Why are we here? Where did we come from? Where are we going? What’s the purpose, meaning of it all? Science, philosophy and religion have addressed these questions for millennia – but people continue to search for answers!
The 21st century is witnessing an amazing conjunction of seemingly disparate ideas, disciplines and interest groups weaving together an emerging model of human activity within an Earth Community which is part of a vast story of the evolution of the Sacred Universe.
More than science, philosophy, religion, ecology, spirituality, evolution or cosmology, there is an emerging awareness of the oneness of all that is and how that integral awareness calls us to action in today’s world.
Primarily through the use of short video clips, this introductory workshop will outline the ideas of thinkers such as Thomas Berry, Brian Swimme, Carl Sagan, Teilhard de Chardin, Maria Montessori, and others. Group discussion will be facilitated and there will be time for contemplation and reflection – this is not just “head stuff”.
Seeing the Universe with new eyes, some will sense deep spiritual wisdom. From these insights many will be called to action as you see all aspects of human culture and activity within the Earth Community in a new way.
